Parties Planned for Bride-Elect

Numerous pre-nuptial parties are planned to compliment Miss Myrtle Stanford, whose marriage to William Swann Brown of Blanchester, Ohio, will take place on May 30 at Wightman Chapel, Scarritt College.

Among those having honored her is Mrs. Thomas Gore, of Franklin, who entertained at a luncheon Saturday at the Hermitage Hotel. Serving as co-hostess with her daughter was Mrs. Charles Andrews.

At 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon Mrs. R. R. McInnis and Mrs. C. D. Lee complimented Miss Stanford at a seated tea for 15 guests at the McInnis home on Spring Valley Road. The reseption rooms were decorated with arrangements of spring flowers, and the lace covered tea table was centered with a silver bowl filled with an all-white arrangement, flanked by white tapers burning in silver holders. Mrs. Harold E. Stanford presided at the tea table. The honoree was presented a gift.

Tuesday evening at 7 o'clock, Dr. and Mrs. McPheeters Glasgow were hosts at dinner at the Belle Meade Country Club, honoring Miss Stanford, Mr. Brown and members of the bridal party.

Mrs. William H. Criswell entertained at luncheon at the Hermitage Hotel to honor the bride-elect on Wednesday.

Others planning to entertain in her honor are Mrs. R. E. Tanksley, Mrs. Joe Harry Smith, Mr. and Mrs. Neuberne Henry Brown, parents of the bridegroom-to-be, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Donnell Stanford, Jr.
