Members of the Boy Scout Troop 30, of Donelson, set out this morning in the last-minute drive for DIARY subscriptions. The subscription drive, from which the Scouts hope to derive enough money to buy a cabin, will end Saturday at 6 p.m.
One of the highlights of 1946 at the Donelson Grammar School was the Thanksgiving Market. The room presenting the most unique exhibit was the Third Grade class. A "MERRY CHRISTMAS" ... Some on the road to recovery, some doomed to spend their lives in hospitals, thousands upon thousands of World War II heroes are spending Christmas in hospitals again this year. Happy despite handicapping war wounds, fighting veterans have entered into the Yuletide spirit.
A sign of the wintry times came this week as several children of the Bluefields subdivision were able to construct a reasonable facsimile of an igloo. The snow house was built on the hyard at the Vernon Dicerson home. New Theatre Is Impressive Building - The New Donelson Theatre and Shopping Centre, above, which is the largest addition to the Donelson business section. The Theatre is owned by the Crescent Amusement Company and managed by James A. Gleaves.

A completely modern service station is the goal which hs been set by Martin Garrett for his Garrett's Shell Service, located on Lebanon Road at McGavock Pike. The addition of four more flood lights to bring out the modernistic design of the station at night plus fluorescent interior lighting and window displays are features....

Sam Carver (left), who with his son Aubrey operates the Carver Cleaners, is a native of the Donelson community. He was born on McCrory Creek Road and his business is now located almost adjacent to the spot where his father operated a blacksmith shop many years ago. The Carver Cleaners, located across from the Bank of Donelson for the past eight years, will probably move to a new site in the near future.

PIONEER TO TEACH... Dr. Lee De Forest, 73, known as the “father of broadcasting,” has accepted the position of director of the veterans training program is Chicago television laboratories.
